It's the car photography equivalent of a teenage girl in front of the mirror making a stupid face and taking a pic for her myspace/facebook.

Geez guys, it's not like it was the lead photo for the article. Hell, it wasn't even in the actual article. It was just a cool setting and we tried a few different spots. Maybe that's actually just very clear ice and we'd just finished testing out the mad tyte Quattro skillz out there. Would that make it better?

Have you driven both a 335i and a 335i xDrive? The difference is pretty minimal, with the most noticeable thing being the AWD's ability to have insane launches.

My only BMW experience comes in RWD flavor, so I have no idea, but I'm naturally disinclined to liking AWD. I'll take the lighter, less complex package, especially since it can do smoky (one-wheeled) burnouts.

That's it? I figured your fanboy-ness was based on something remotely rational.

I'll never understand photographs of cars on boat ramps.

How else are going to get a road car close enough to the water in most places to get a decent shot of it?
Doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

BMW’s first all-wheel-drive system arrived in 1987 with the 325iX, just three years after Audi introduced the world to the idea of such a system on a premium car.

last time i checked the Audi Quattro was "introduced to the world" in 1980, my good friend owns an 81 greymarket Audi quattro... 87 - 3= 80?

Secondly, what kind of a comparison was this? I agree that these two cars should be compared instead of an m3 vs s4, but you didn't really compare them... you told me which has better brakes and which has better "ride comfort" you compared how the s4 to every other audi sedan... but you failed to tell me which car is quicker 0-60, which car was faster in the quarter mile, which car was faster on a road course... These are the things "car guys" want to know. We can go read the specs for 0-60 for both cars but those are never tested at the same place same time same day...
you compared the cars more to vehicles in their own individual lineups.
this is just my 2 cents. I would rather read something that actually puts the two cars head to head. If i want to find out which seat is more comfortable I'll let me ass tell me that.

Too be honest, you really can't go wrong with either car, no matter what. I'm an Audi fanboy, but the 335xi is such a great car, it doesn't matter. The M-Sport pkg 3 series sedan looks great also. Personally, if it was up to my heart, I'd rock the S4, but if my wallet decides the car, I'd probably end up leasing a 335xi because it would almost be cheaper

I don't think you should assume what other "car guys" want to know. If all you want is 0-60 numbers, and 1/4 times, etc... that information has already been covered by a few sites that review cars.

You don't feel that a european car enthusiast magazine should "compare" speed and acceleration about two sports cars when writting a "comparison" article? You are happy with them telling you which seats are more comfy?
Did you not read the next sentance of the exerpt you quoted from me? Yes there are other places to get 0-60 number but they are typically performed different days on different cars with different temperatures, all at different altitudes, ect... For speed tests, side by side is the best way to COMPARE the two cars.
I want my post to be considered creative critisim. I have many car magazine subscriptions, if this is the kind of articles I can expect from Kilometer, I wouldn't want it next to my toilet. I posted this as a potential customer, if magazines don't publish information that people want to read about, they don't sell.

There.
Also, I didn't find your "critisim" to be "creative". I get what you were saying, but you acted like what you were looking for in a comparison article is what everybody is looking for in a comparison article. I for one found the article to be quite a nice read and informative. Then again I already knew pretty much how the test numbers would have ended up, with reading other comparisons already and all you know.

I have to agree - drove an A4 V6 and then a BMW 328i xDrive and I felt those were roughly equal as well.

That pretty much sums it up. I want a cheeseburger, I buy a cheeseburger. I don't thank them when they give me a raddish salad.
