We held off on it because we were hoping for snow, but Mother Nature wasn't willing to play along.
We keep hearing that regardless of the winner, the age-old BMW/Audi rivalry is closer than it has ever been. Case in point: the 335i xDrive and the S4 for 2010, both packing force-fed six-cylinders and all-wheel-drive into well-appointed, unassuming ensembles for around fifty grand. Five years ago if we had done a comparo involving the S4, we would have certainly put it up against BMW’s M3. Problem was, even with a V8 and all-wheel-drive, the old S4 fell short in the thrills department. When BMW introduced the twin-turbo 335i, however, the S4 suddenly had a more sensible counterpart than the balls-to-the-wall M3, especially when buyers checked the xDrive option box...

Good article that doesn't pick a clear winner but describes the differences between the two, very similar, cars. Either one is a winner, IMO.

      I'd love either car...
and the fact that I can get around 18% off the BMW makes me like it even more. Too bad Audi doesn't offer such a program.
It was nice to see a comparison with an X-drive for a change.

That's how we felt. They're very similar cars but the small differences between them make each a little better at different things. Each is one of the best cars money can buy right now, though.

I'll never understand photographs of cars on boat ramps.

If it's not an Amphicar or a truck with a trailer, it doesn't belong on a boat ramp.

The first in my memory that I've seen is this one and I think it's quite pretty.
Is prettiness limited to instances wherein the car would be useful?

wow...pretty harsh words over a picture
didn't realize car location pics were a hot topic here
regardless of what type of car it is or which publication took it, i think the quality of that photo is very good
so according to some in TCL, car should only be photographed on the autobahn/interstate/road/etc

I doubt you'd photograph a jet ski sitting in pit-out at VIR, so it makes little sense to have a car posed in front of a body of water looking like a cat that's dubious of an impending bath.

Come to think of it, that might be kinda fun.
I'll ride the jet ski while you tow it around VIR with the Jeep.

Have you driven both a 335i and a 335i xDrive? The difference is pretty minimal, with the most noticeable thing being the AWD's ability to have insane launches.

I think if you read between the lines you'll understand which we like better. It's just pointless to say "this one's better than the other" in a situation like this where both cars are fantastic. I'd like to think that if you read our article, you'll be able to decide which car would be for you based on the analysis. You want me to pick one? The 335i, in that sexy brown you see above.
