Hello everyone

Lego illness caught up to me. I've been playing with lego in the 90s back when i lived in Russia. I now have a a son who is almost 2 years old and seems to be into cars and all mechanical. So i decided to put together an automotive collection for him. I did buy him quite a few LEGO DUPLO sets which he is enjoying.

P.S. Also buying a few extra sets as an investment so that i can offset my investment .

      On to the collection:

Started with 3 sets of this (1 for him, 2 as an investment).

Added this later, found on clearance at Nordstrom Rack. I think i might be offloading this set. Not liking it a lot but it is a good set interms of parts. Someone might want it.

      Found this set at Costco

Scored this set yesterday on eBay. VWs are my passion!

Really want LEGO TECHNIC CLAAS. Ordered it twice from Amazon and received a box that was taken out of someones ARSE! Oh well.

Looking to pick up this ASAP. Maybe a few for collection.

      AND THIS! Really want.

Picked up the Empire State Building and white 911 and also the mini figure head mug last night after I got in from Italy. I came across the 911 in a few store while there but figured I’d buy it once I got back so I can add points to my card lol

We're preparing for an international move so we're going through the house and purging excess stuff. Obviously we're bringing the kids Legos and probably a few of my bigger sets with the rest staying in storage.

      Speaking of storage....
What are your thoughts on keeping Lego boxes? I plan on hanging on to the boxes from some of the higher dollar sets that might be worth something down the road, but what about the boxes from smaller sets? Worth hanging on to? Obviously they don't weigh much...

growing up, my dad would always cut the front panel off the box and recycle the rest. I still have some but most have been recycled. as far as current sets, I have a lot of the bigger boxes still (Bugatti, GT3 RS, Saturn V, etc), but most of mine get recycled.

I returned the Bugatti yesterday for a store credit and then picked up the Mustang and the Harley-Davidson. Still had money left over so I got the little one some Lego as well.

used LEGO aren't nearly worth as much as unopened LEGO. We keep the manuals. Boxes go away.

I flatten the boxes aka unfold them so they are flat. I have three of the bigger of the boxes still together and I stack the flatten boxes in them. Not really sure why I keep them as I have no plans to sell any o& my stuff

The Porsche lego looks really classy. This week I might go to target and hoping they have it there. I feel like lego should also release a more cultural/traditional way of transportation in different countries like in Thailand they have the tuk-tuk.

I think it depends on the set... I paid a **** ton of money for a Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle that was complete/open box - it was probably double the MSRP.

My wife hadn't told me what she wants for her birthday on the 20th. She's getting a belated present.

EDIT: We also got the new catalogue in the mail. There is easily about $5k worth of stuff we would buy if we weren't building this ****ing deck.

I have only kept the boxes for the really big sets like my old Tantative IV blockade runner model, the first Death Star playset (even have the brown overcarton) and the big Porsche turbo model.

I have that castle in a box from an old power supply.

A buddy of mine just spent $300 on NIB on 10129, the Star Wars snowspeeder model from back in 2003. It was $130 new.

I need to do a new water heater ($650) by the end of the year and have a tree taken down ($730), and that's not including a few car things I want to do as well (tint, tires, coils). Lego has been put on the back burner for a few months.

      TOO MANY HOBBIES.

So after some searching and video watching online today I found out most of the creator cars fit on the new Car Transporter sooooo I decided to pick one up. Had to go to my back up Lego store in queens since my regular store didn’t have any. Also, not a fan of the new VIP point system. I went to use my points and was told I couldn’t until I log online and say what points I want to use. Apparently and email went out that I never got. This means I now have to call Lego up and figure my account out because I was never able to log onto my account online hence why I never order anything online
