I'll be posting match day score summaries as I did last year.

Some great results yesterday. Well done by Cluj to shut down the rent boys. From all accounts it was quite the sh*t match.
BRING ON UNITED!

Barca lucked out against Shaktar as well. Great game winner from Messi, but terrible mistake that lead to the levelling goal.

What do people think with regards to the comments from UEFA with regards to club debt? It seems that due to the current economic crisis debt ratios are being more closely monitored.
Are salary caps in the future of football or are do other alternatives exist? First of all would it be "easy" to mandate a salary cap with each nation having distinct labor laws?
Perhaps having some type of system were having the club salaries being a certain percentage of the clubs revenue?

Dimitar Berbatov struck twice as Manchester United FC moved a step closer to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League with a comprehensive 3-0 victory against Celtic FC.

United were grateful to a brace from Dimitar Berbatov and a second-half strike from in-form Wayne Rooney as they comfortably downed SPL side Celtic 3-0 to move to within touching distance of the last 16, while Gordon Strachan's men now face an uphill challenge if they are to reach the latter rounds.
Defending champions United enjoyed the better of a lively first half at Old Trafford, with Celtic sloppy in possession, and found themselves in front after 30 minutes in controversial style.
Berbatov proved he has now well and truly settled into his new surroundings following his summer transfer deadline day move from Tottenham as he opened the scoring. The Bulgarian striker survived Celtic's appeals of offside to apply the slightest of touches and prod past Artur Boruc after John O'Shea had flicked on at a corner.
And it was Berbatov - again from a possible offside position - who grabbed United's second as he followed up a rifled Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick, which Boruc could only palm, to tap in on 51 minutes.
Rooney - who it appears cannot help but score at present - then added gloss to United's victory as he demonstrated all of his recent guile to take a touch on the edge of the box, turn, and curl past Boruc with 14 minutes left on the clock.
Goals: Berbatov (2), Rooney

I'll say it before anyone else does..
Berba's two goals were offside. Rooney had one called back for being offside though, that should have been allowed. That's the way she goes, but man Celtic lacked ANY threat whatsoever. Nakamura was basically useless with nobody to link up with.

Celtic had a few early chances that would have changed the game imo. Berbs was offsides on both, with the first being more of an issue for me.

Aside from the no calls on offsides, Celtic was ****ing terrible so the Mancs would've still put one or two in. They're so much better than that but they play like ass because they get complacent in the SPL.
Mancs can still **** off.

Don't we always?
I agree there was a couple good chances early on, but the Bhoys were utter sh*te. I'm expecting a much closer and tougher battle in Glasgow.
