So I downloaded the Antares Autotune plug-in free demo on my macbook pro, and I'm trying to use this program...and I'm completely ****ing lost. When I open the folder for Antares Autotune, it has AutoTuneMM.vst and AutoTuneSS.vst What the hell are VST's? Can logic use these plug ins? Garage band? Anything?!? This is getting very frustrating, as I'm usually pretty good with this type of stuff. Anyone who can lend any assistance, eBeerz on me yo
TIA

The only program i was able to get Autotune working in real time was with Protools And Fruity loops. Cool edit only allows the plugin to be used after the track is recorded. I gave up on getting it to work with logic.

Was it pretty straight forward getting it to work with FL?

yep. you only can use it if the sound card supports ASIO. Search on youtube. someone posted a tutorial on how to get Autotune working with fruity loops.

Truth.
But there are ways around it.

Also, logic has a built-in pitch corrector (no graphical mode).

The original reason I downloaded the program is because my friends and I make rap songs, joking around. The new trend is rap music is using pitch correction to achieve that "cher" or "Tpain" sound. Which is a lot of fun. I did it for like 3 hours last night.
Anyways, on a more serious level, when I do legit recording, does anyone have some default settings they use for Autotune? Something that will correct pitch, but will sound pretty natural? TIA

check out the manual mode of Autotune. Its a pain to use but works well.
Here are a few examples of my autotune settings.
The first vid is me singing about cereal with it retune set a little high.

The second is my friend singing about cake and that we set it to the highest retune speed.
