These are our boys from when they first arrived in the UK (Canadian rescue cats), Stanley, top, has put on a fair bit of weight since then but is a big boy. Alfonzo, in front, is a special boy but we have recently found out he has an extremely rare heart defect (never documented in a cat before) so him making it to 10 is very special, but his prognosis is grim so doing what we can at this point, he is back to his cardiologist tomorrow, and yes my cat has a veterinary cardiologist...
Been noticing a bunch of stray cats around my neighborhood lately, not sure if people are losing their pets or if there is some huge nest somewhere ...
Here is our kittah we recently adopted. She is about 5 years old. She settled in quick like she has been here forever. That is not a real cat on the right, my mother in laws cat sculpture. It freaked the cat out at first
She discovered the gas fireplace and its warmth last night
Here's my girl Ashes:
She is 13 and still a maniac. I stole her 12 years ago from an ex girlfriend who never changed her litter box (used shredded newspaper as litter), never kept food or water in her bowl. I would find her drinking dirty water out of dirty dishes in the sink. She didnt trust anyone, but after about 6 months, she grew to trust me and me alone. She was over protective of me and wouldnt let anyone come near me. If they did, she would charge, hiss, and scratch. When I brought home new girlfriends, she would attack them. She did this to everyone except I met my wife. She rubbed on her as soon as she walked in the door and sat on her lap as soon as she sat down. Thats right, she helped my pick my wife.
My wife was actually very fearful of cats as her best friends cat attacked her pretty badly and chase her into a closet and trapped her until her friend pulle dthe cat away. My wife was scared to be near Ashes or even walk past her, but now they are the best of friends. My wife is now a cat lady thanks to Ashes. Ashes still doesnt trust anyone except myself and my wife. She knows the sound of my wifes GTI (she hears it about a block away and jumps up to greet her at the door) and meets us at the door everyday.
It's time to revive this thread
got this little goofball at the end of September of last year when he was only few weeks old
this picture was taken sometime this year in January
took this pic Today in the morning. He likes to chill on the top of my truck tire
For the most part I keep him inside, but during the day I let him go outside and he tends to go nuts when he's out there. So far he have killed bunch of mouses, rats, few birds, squirrels, a rabbit... yes a rabbit and also a garden snake. He always leaves his trophies at the doormat to proudly show me what he have killed that day. He usually hides in the bushes and waits for the prey to come and when he sees it, he's after it. Never had a cat like that before. Everyday I give him two bowls with food. So he's not hungry at all. I guess that's just his hobby killing other animals. shrug
