      Apologize if this is not the proper forum to post this question.
      I have a 2001 GTI VR6, 93K miles. when going over 20mph, there is a hum, specially when gradually turning right/lane changing....

      wet weather - engine runs like crap!

      Every time it rains/snows/etc. the engine runs really bad:
      1. Engine service, traction control, "ETC" lights come on.
      2. RPMs all over the place.
      3. No power
      4. Backfires
      5. Halts
      88K miles on...

      do you think I could do an IB sub in the hatch of my trunk? What's your opinion on this setup if mounted in the hatch panel? Obviously it would be a very leaky setup, but still?

      Yep. After I find a small amp, install the sub, I am thinking about putting a high pass filter at around 80Hz on the stock speakers (rear and front)....

      Hmm... That's strange cause I measured my CD changer mounting bracket to be 6 1/2 x 9 3/4 x 3 1/2. I have a Golf, maybe that's why.

      Figured the Frequency of lowest cabin resonance is about 65 Hz according to:

      If longest length of car cabin (rear glass to bottom of windshield) is 9 feet, what does that mean for my subwoofer selection?

      no idea, but looking for an amp to fit in the side well of the trunk- where the factory amp sits. Measured the opening to be around 7x11 inches.
      Any recommendations? does Mtx make a decent one?...
