There is something that always irritates me that I keep seeing more and more. Its when someone refers to a wagon (station wagon not Volkswagen) as a wagen. What started this? Does replacing the o with an e make you mad euro tite? Please elaborate almighty TCL Rule #1

To Germans: Wagon = Variant or Combi, although they do call fastbacks, Combi as well.

It's funny that station wagons were called estate wagons in the US.

I've only seen what you speak of in Craigslist ads with terrible spelling. "Wagen" doesn't even mean "Wagon" in German, the words are just born of a common ancestor.

They were called "suburban" before they became "estate".

Wagen just means car. You can use das Auto or der Wagen. So I guess it's fine if you for some reason feel like switching to German for one word, but I don't see why anyone would be motivated to do so.
