Time Magazine has just published an interview with Audi of America boss Johan de Nysschen. In the piece, the the Audi executive discusses several topics though mostly on the ideas of the economy, electric mobility and diesel mobility. Read it after the jump.
Did I read the article correctly? Did he say they are developing diesel hybrids..?? That would be expensive - but you would probably get the best "bang for the buck".

Diesel hybrid actually combines the best of both worlds. You got diesel fuel economy after the initial battery start-up, then transfer into diesel fuel consumption.
Costs could be relative. If it's paired with 2.0T, that engine isn't that expensive but it's not very powerful. If it's paired with 3.0 TDI then that'd be more expensive than a 3.0T setup for sure and move it into a very premium position. It depends on the details.
