 Ingolstadt – Dynamic and wonderful to look at, the new A5 Cabriolet is a real Audi, and an especially exciting one at that. The four-seater with the fabric top combines a sporty character with the fascination of open-top driving, refined comfort, and great everyday utility. Seven powerful engines, an agile suspension and a wide range of high-end options make the new Audi model the most attractive mid-range convertible. The top-of- the-line model of Audi’s new family of convertibles is the S5 Cabriolet. The engine of the S5 Cabriolet is the newly developed, supercharged three-liter V6 with gasoline direct injection. Prices start at EUR 37,300 for the 1.8 TFSI with 118 kW (160 hp) and six-speed manual transmission. Delivery of the first A5 Cabriolet models will begin in the second quarter of 2009. Full Story

B E A U TIFUL!!!! the sprint blue one is drop dea GORGEOUS!!! and with the 3.0T hopefully the price would be slightly less for people. can't wait to see one in person.

Interesting that they've switched to the 3.0T for this convertible S5. The switch has got to be just around the corner for the S5 coupe. I was willing to buy the theory that the S5 would remain a V8 to differentiate it from the S4, but now that the S5 exists as a convertible 3.0T, it makes no sense to keep the coupe a V8.Oh, yes, and the convertible A5/S5 is beautiful. Audi is definitely turning out some of the classiest shapes in the industry right now.

V8 will stay another year in the coupe. With 3G MMI and a sport differential, the 2010 S5 may be the collector car amongst S5 production as it'll still have the GT-oriented V8 with all of the later production kit.

Its not a mistake, the Supercharger makes the engine turbocharged. Turbocharged is a generic term meaning forced induction not necessarily produced by a Turbo.

I'm in complete disagreement with Audi on their deliberate misuse of commonly used and well established terminology . . A mechanically driven induction compressor is a "Supercharger"
This term has been used for many many decades without question by countless engine manufacturers. An induction compressor which is driven by an exhaust gas turbine is a "Turbo-supercharger", or as it has become commonly known, simply a "Turbocharger." If you call your supercharger a turbocharger, you're just going to get laughed at by the Honda kids . .  My preferred term? . . Call it a "Blower" . .  That all having been said . .  DADDY WANTS A BLUE S5!!!
PS - I agree with George as to the 2010-V8 being the one to have . . But I can't get one by then, I will be removing the "T" from my V6 and putting an "S" on there

I think the use of the word turbo was a typo. That's my guess. Will look into it.And if I get a supercharged car, I'll be removing the badges entirely.
