Wonderful news - now bring it to the US, Audi! I think that the more models Audi can introduce here with TDI, especially sports cars like the TT, will do nothing but help legitimize modern diesel technology.

It is more than just legitimizing modern diesel technology in the states. Our economy is based on oil. Do you think exxon and shell want more fuel efficient cars in the U.S. . . . how is it that Europe is so far ahead of the U.S. when it comes to the availability of fuel efficient models. And the U.S. is suppose to have this great car culture!!! Money and greed are the driving force. We will be lucky to get the few diesels models that we do get . . . especially out here in California where environmentalists have been mistaken for politicians (and vice versa).
why only 170 hp???i thought it got 225 hp....that not really match the market....
It's the high-output version of the 2.0L TDI, which is rated at 140 hp in the Jetta. 170 hp may not seem that high (and, no, it's no TT-S), but it has huge torque for excellent driveability. And of course there are tuning options.
