...a tough act to follow. Truer words couldn’t be spoken when comparing the new second generation Audi TT to the first. The original TT was a design icon and quickly built up a strong cult following, especially in the UK where TT-based online forums and aftermarket specialty parts shops quickly sprang up following the car’s launch in 1999. The States were quick to follow and Audi registered strong sales in the initial years the TT was offered. No matter what Audi did with the second generation TT it was bound to be met with some skepticism from the first generation crowd.
I did the shoot when I was out there for a launch. You'll see a few more TT reviews from me with similar San Fran area shots, one near the wharf and I forget where I shot the other. Anyhow, I shot this one at the lookout above the Golden Gate and then the tree-lined shots are from a back road out near Napa. It just so happened that Joe got the exact same spec when he had a car for our presence at TTWest this year, so he wrote this one up and we used my pics. The funny part is, Joe lives in the bay area and I live in PA, so the fact it was shot near him and he wasn't present is a bit goofy.
