Audi released info and pics of the new A3 today to coincide with a presentation at the car's factory in Hungary and at the Bologna motor show. It is possible that the look seen on this car could mark the facelift for the A3 - note the updated headlights, taillights (for 3-door) and both standard and S-line front fascias.

Less likely is the car's sale in the USA or Canada since the 3-door (on-which the Cabriolet is based) was never developed to meet US regulations. To make it eligible for sale, a significant redesign would be necessary, which makes a business case for the car basically nonexistent.

In particular, I like the new headlamp and tail treatments. Looks to be a very nicely furnished package. I would suspect that down the road we would get this in North America as the A5 takes over the higher end convertible market.

Of course, it's all a moot point: I can't stand convertibles. Haha.

overall they did a GREAT job and id buy this over a convertible cooper or eos any day of the week.

As for the red interior and love for it, I remember NGP having a red A3 interior right after the cars came out. This was back when they were bringing in a lot of European spec parts and they'd pulled it from a scrap yard A3 Sportback that'd had the quattro GmbH treatment. As I recall, they had a hard time selling it (and yes, they sold it).

however this car looks AMAZING, would be a great competitor to the 1 series beemer and mini cooper convertible and should be brought to the US. LOVE it. Id love to see the 2.0 diesel throughout the range too...

Hmmm... doesn't say anything about quattro.

the only arguement for it coming to US is that convertibles generally do pretty well here and if AUDI AG and AUDI of America can figure out if they can sell enough cars. It could make makes sense in a business case. I bet they would sell real well in SoCal. Perfect Example of Convertibles cases are the VW EOS and RS4 Cabrio

JMHO it looks great for a cab, but very very feminine (as most convertibles do, specifically compacts). I also cant wait to see those headlights fitted on a 5 door, that would be my first order of buisness if I still had the A3.

One things for sure I know Buddha would look great driving it.
