Project TT Coupe: Wheels and Tires Round 2« »

Looking back on our Project TT Coupe, the first modifications we ever made to the black 2-door were a new set of wheels and tires. The Neuspeed RS10’s and Toyo T1R tires have served Project TT well for the past two years or so. The setup lasted through several car shows and a couple Audi Club of North America track days. At the time, they were the perfect match for the car. However, tires eventually wear out and a desire to freshen the look of one’s car will often tempt an enthusiast into rationalizing the purchase of a new set of rims. We were not immune.

needs to be lower

What is interesting is that it appeared lower with my previous wheel and tire setup - which leads me to believe that the wider rim with the same size tire (in front) resulted in a bit more gap than before - but it is still less than 1 finger.

Personally I like this look and don't like the "too low" look not to mention that this car sees the track and I don't want to screw up the handling by lowering it too much.

I love these write ups as well as the wheels. I actually looked into getting some after I saw them on your car. But at about $4,200 with tires I just didn't want to do it. Plus I have a 08' Cayenne that needs some TLC. Anyway, beautiful car.

I think many people forget that there is a difference when talking about track suspension and just plain looks. If the suspension handles great where its at now, i dont think he should adjust it at all!

yes, after you drop acid, your headlights should become brighter and "more responsive"... they should also resemble either train lights, spotlights, knockers, cows, lawnmowers or some other random hallucination

Thanks for the compliments folks.

As for the ride height - none of the pictures really show the ride height that well as there aren't any direct side on shots. While I will say it's not as low as most lowered cars - due to suspension setup and my preference, it does appear a bit higher in these pics than it does currently, but not by much at all.

A couple things to note. These pictures were taken a few days after I put the wheels on the car, so the suspension wasn't quite settled. Second - they were taken prior to the 5mm front and 10mm rear spacers being put on. Moving the wheels out a bit might make them to appear to "fill" the wells out a bit more, I really don't know.

That all being said - the ride height and suspension tuning is perfect for my track wheels and tires and has enough clearance to run a bit wider rubber - which I'll be doing after I wear out my current R-comps.

ride height is perfect bro.no need for a suspension that handles like $hit at the expense of looking "cool".i think this is a perfect compromise between form and function.
