How the hell is an intake stsyem that places the filter directly over the engine considered a CAI? I have just lost a lot of respect for Carbino for peddling this ridiculous "CAI" system. Get a K&N filter for the OEM panel and save some $$$. What a joke.

hey smart guy: no one EVER said this system by Carbonio is a CAI. plan to read before you post.

And a MKV GLI. Anyway, I guess I jumped to conclustions when I read this: "The other trait of carbon fiber is that it does not get as hot as some plastics or metal, keeping the intake temperature lower – a very good thing." Whenever I read "Lower intake temps" about a new system, my mind reverts to CAI. Regardless, I'd LOVE to see a dyno comparo of this vs. a hi-flow filter with the OEM tube. Save the $$ used on a 6" long carbon intake tube and add a 100 octane program from APR

CAI as stated above is cold air intake.usually it is an air intake that routes down and out of the engine bay and sits closer to the ground. effectively bringing in colder/non-engine bay air. This one pictured above is not a CAI

Nice link! Makes me think twice about putting a K&N in any vehicle. Let's see, more air flow == more crap in your engine.
