An unmarked, unscientific, speed breaker was the cause of the crash that killed a promising young talented racer and his new bride. He must have been speeding, of course, in a BMW Z4 that had been remapped and modded. No information as to whether alcohol was involved or not. He raced both cars and motorcycles and won multiple championships in both.
He hit the speed breaker, car was thrown out of kilter, crashed between a tree and a wall and got wedged, so doors couldn't be opened. Car exploded, they both were charred to death.
Most cities in India have a ****load of speed breakers that are completely unscientific, whether installed by the authorities or by local vested interests. They break cars, suspensions, bend wheels, cause punctures, and are almost never marked or painted. Trouble is, it's not always the city that installs these speed breakers; sometimes it's the local residents, or a school in the area, or just some cranky resident - all done illegally. Cops and city officials don't care.
