No, but Honda reds are known for turning pink (especially on plastic parts) very fast with little-to-no-care taken to protect it.

Went to the dealer (closed) to see where she is. This one was open, similar but CVT equipped.

      Steering wheel stitching

      Seats

      All black headliner

      Faux carbon fiber trim

      Soon...

Very nice Bill! You can't do any better for the money right now. This is exactly what I would have picked up in 2012 if it was available.

Did he buy an SS? I thought it was a Honda.

Congrats OP. The mid cycle refresh on the Accord makes it the best looking Accord of all time. Those taillights look very premium. I love it when OEMs offer a black headliner. The only thing missing from your spec is the V6 but that's another conversation. Keep the pics coming!

      Excellent choice.

Only way they could make it better is they offered a wagon.

Has LED tails, fogs and DRLs. Additionally the halogens are projectors so I could easily retrofit HIDs if I choose. Or just wait for aftermarket LED tech to catch-up.

How to turn VSA completely off on the 9.5G cars:

      1. turn on car
      2. release parking brake
      3. hold down brake pedal
      4. press VSA switch to toggle off
      5. press VSA switch to toggle on
      6. apply handbrake and release brake pedal
      7. press VSA to toggle off
      8. press VSA switch to toggle on
      9. hold brake pedal down with handbrake up
      10. press VSA toggle twice. The VSA activation light will stay on and the VSA OFF light will flash quickly.

I'm very impressed with the amount of new performance-car purchases over the past few weeks in here. This isn't an SS but I think it still qualifies...

I truly would love an SS. Watching MT's Jason Cammisa throwing it around the track, mouth agape with a **** eating grin had me giddy. But alas not practical financially or morally.

      Say what?
Buying an SS is immoral now?

I know you're just being a smartass, but the SS's insurance is within a few bucks of my 6's policy. Everyone's situation is different, but it's definitely not expensive to insure.

GT: How is the ride with the 19" wheels? I saw a few reviews that mentioned that the Continental all-seasons they come with were so-so and it seemed that they bore the blame for any negatives associated with the ride. Interested to hear more updates!

EDIT: Went down the Cars/Autotrader rabbithole and the closest not-black SE 6MT is 280 miles away.

      For s&g, I quoted a 2016 SS base.

I pay $963 every 6 months for the Kizashi & Pilot.

      SS - $943, or $40 cheaper! LOL.

The 2017 Accord will be $910.

The Kizashi is expensive to insure.

Demographics are so important in insurance costs here.

I dig the color, I wish Honda offered it other trim levels. I've had a 9.5 Accord (white) for over a year and it's been solid.

Damn I love these, the red is so bright and the wheels complete the package

I like the styling on this accord better than the Acura TLX which just seems frumpy looking from behind

I have yet to drive the 6MT. However I drove the CVT and I didn't feel any issues with the ride. Though it was pretty short demo and with a salesperson.

I took one for a long test drive. Ride is surprisingly good for the 19" wheels. It's got a well-damped feel to it -- far less floaty than a Camry or Legacy. Tire noise and suspension impact noise is low.

The one thing I didn't like about the Accord Sport was the steering felt artificially really heavy when stopped (parking lot maneuvers). It's like they were trying to do their best impression of a late-90s BMW.
