      Current Plan:
This upcoming Sunday, the 26th of March, Meeting at the In and Out in Daly City at 8am, and we're going to drive up into the Marin headlands for a BBQ.
      - A couple random nice cars are going
      - A whole bunch of old VWAGs are going

      Future:?
And get a group meetup scheduled for Sonoma.

      NHRA.
      End of July

Yea, it's not this sites type of race, but what the hell do we have to lose?
      Oh yea, our hearing.

      takers?

NHRA is ANYONE's type of racing once they've tried it. I'm flying down to Gainesville in a couple weeks and have been to Norwalk a few times.

Did NHRA last year for my bday. Hysterically fun. Down to do it again.

Why wait until July? There's plenty of fun stuff we can do in the meantime.

What shall we do in the interim?

NHRA is fun! Nothing like experiencing your whole body vibrate and shake from the exhaust of a funny car speeding down the track

Haven't been since my very early teens, would love to go again.

I'm also down to do something else in the interim but I don't think there will be any backroad fun to be had until at least early-mid april. And even that's considering we don't get any more rain.

So what else is in the interim?

We could do a Highway 1 run... err probably not since half of it is closed...

We could do a C&C at blackhawk...

We could do a Mt. Tam cruise...

We could do a Half Moon Bay drive...

We could do whatever the C&C is down south at the auto shop place, whose name I can't think of...

East bay roads probably aren't as hammered. I'll chat with my friend and see if he knows some good routes.

I hate weekend cruising around the bay though. Too many cyclists.

NHRA is the only time I've genuinely been scared at a racetrack. The noise and vibration of those things is positively primal.

There could be some stuff a bit more east. But we were hammered pretty good too. Its too much of a drive to Del Puerto Canyon Rd. And I need to get the truck back on the road. Or otherwise I will be famwagon.
I am going to succeed this year on making it to Canepa C&C. Hopefully multiple times.

There is racing to watch at Thunderhill on April 16th. Historic stock cars and Pirelli GT3 Cup cars among the cars that will be on track. And HPDE for those interested.

If people wanted to have a nice little drive and end up in a nice little area of walnut creek, this is a route I ended up on a few months back:

Over the hill, not through the tunnel.

I suck at planning stuff, but yeah it's some sort of start.

Yes, then I don't have to travel very far to get home

Though the real fun is when you take Pinehurst to Redwood rd into Castro Valley

This Sunday is C&C in Blackhawk and there's usually 500-600 cars. If you guys want to go on a run afterwards, there's a nice 45 min drive with plenty of twisty roads from Crow Canyon in San Ramon to Palomares Rd to Calaveres/Sunol and finish it in Milpitas. I used to do it in my M5 once or twice a month. My Corrado is in the shop unfortunately so I'm coming in one of my beaters to C&C this Sunday

When http://www.pashnit.com/ was free I used to spend my weekends exploring the backroads

The rain this weekend will probably slow down C&C Blackhawk.

Canepa is great but it gets packed really quickly. Hard to do in groups. Especially since I feel bad taking space up for the actual cool cars.

      NHRA would be fun though.

NHRA is great but man it is a **** show. It is packed and usually hot as hell.

I nominate Indy weekend. touring cars, indy cars, zero crowds, ect. you can sit at any of the turns on the track at any time during the weekend. it's sad how under attended the event is.

The Pirelli World Challenge cars are such a blast to see in person.

all that being said, i'm in for NHRA as well.

Given the weather in the past few days I thought it would remain clear. Unfortunately that changed this evening.

How about our own c&c? Guessing we've all seen enough flourecent Lambos and cars that are well out of range garage queens that you have to tip toe around to be satisfied for two life times.
Honestly, would rather shoot the sh$t with like minded enthusiasts see some random metal in the flesh. Maybe do the first one somewhere between Man Jose and mid peninsula ? Just a thought.

I'm in for whatever. Living in Pacifica I like the idea of a HMB meetup or Mt Tam drive. Pie Ranch for some pies? Mount Hamilton observatory?

Anyone here driven down (or up) 25 from Hollister recently? It's been 15 years since I did that drive back when the pavement was newly paved. Great road with wide turns and very little traffic but it's been 15 years and there's probably a lot more cars to maneuver around now?
