Yup. There's a bone stock matte silver CLA I see all the time here.

They've consistently been selling ~25k-30k units a year in the US.

I've considered one of these to replace my truck. They aren't as sporty as the competition but they get really good mpg's, have room for the kids or even adults that don't mind tucking their head behind the head liner and nicely equipped low mileage models can be had for under $10k

I'm surprised and not surprised at the same time too that they're keeping the signature and somewhat strange looking rear end. At least that's the one thing to remember that somewhat bland looking car by. It's gotta be a very tough market for that car now, it's just not 1970 anymore, far from it.

I see the current ones EVERYWHERE.

I actually had one as a rental for a week. Odd bird for a rental car. Nice ride, lots of features, excellent fuel economy, no power whatsoever. Actually wish it was a 4 door. In other markers it has the 3rd door on the drivers side instead of passenger, so could be built that way.

If you think of it as a funky looking, feature rich econo box it's not a bad car at all.

I've been cross shopping the two and they both have their advantages. A 10k Velsoter will be newer probably better equipped and more than likely a more reliable car.

      .
This is what I was saying. It's not a sports car but an economy car with sporty looks. I've never had one but I would guess its as fun as a sonic, cruise, focus or carola

They almost got this package figured out with the Turbo/R-Spec model in this generation. If they apply their lessons to the new chassis, that could be good news.

They are all over Southern Ontario, and I'm happy to see them doing another gen. With the improvements in styling made to the Sonata & Elantra I'm excited to see how this looks.

The Veloster is well equipped at a cheap price point. Not everyone is shopping for $35K subcompacts with $500 optional chrome mirror caps.

A few more people than are buying GTI's, I can tell you that.

      Calendar year 2015:
      VW GTI: 23,669
      Veloster: 24,245

Honestly, they're about the same market segment, so it shouldn't be surprising to see them sell in similar quantities. I'm curious if the loss of the 2-door GTI is going to hurt VWs sales or not.

Anybody that's saying "lol wut I never see these why make moar" needs an eye exam. I test drove one back in 2013 without the turbo engine and it was pretty slow, but it was faster and had better visibility than the CRZ I also tested.

I've never driven a Veloster, but I always thought that the styling was distinctive in an interesting way. But only from the rear. The front view is awful. If I owned one, I would drive it in reverse all day. From what I've read, that would not give up much speed.

Well depends on where you live I guess. You never see any quattro Audi's in California, More people in norhtern states buy Volvos and all wheel drive Subarus.

      Huh?
Quattro equipped Audis and Subarus are everywhere here !
And Audi is really popular down south, and it never snows in LA or San Diego.

Don't judge a model by sales. Those and Kia's are garbage. In fact some fool tried to act all bad in his Veloster the other day and I smoked that loser.
