But really -- congrats OP. You now own one of my obtainable dream cars

I bought one of my cars 50 years after it was produced, I have to wait until they are junk then I spend 10 years trying to make it road worthy.

I might end up ordering the blacked out fog grills from CP, and then see how I like the chrome outline on the center grills..
Keeping the chrome on the centers will look good if you black out the fog surrounds. I like that you want to keep it a Chevy, too. Maybe wrap the bowtie in the same purple as the car...

Plus it's a rare/interesting color and he bought it new. I think he gets 5/5.

The older I get, the more appreciation I have for factory damn-near-everything. Ride heights, suspension dampening, finishes, etc. It's fun to joke, but they mostly have a clue about what works.

I almost don't care what the car is at this point, it just warms my heart when someone buys a brand new v8 performance car with a manual. Enthusiasts are the exact group targeted for these cars.

Can you post some interior shots. I have 2 friends that both have 09.5 G8 GTs and think they are amazing cars overall. I know the G8s had some hidden features in the middle display for extra read outs, your SS might have something similar. I'd check out LS1Tech.com lots of good info there. And there are a few other LS based forums that are very active and have tons of info. I had a Grand Prix GXP with the LS4 before I got my MK7 GTI.

If I were to get an auto (yes I know, shame on me), would it be worth it to pay a premium for a newer model with the magnetic suspension or not?

I've driven several GMs with the mag-ride. Yes. You should.

Damn ok, thought so. Haven't driven an SS yet. But I absolutely loved the 2011 CTS-V I test drove with mag-ride... More than likely end up with a CTS-V over this. We'll see though, still a ways out.

Which sucks because you can find 2014 SS withOUT the mag ride for cheeeeeap. I've seen some near me that are listed for $40K; that is a lot of car for the money.
