Yesssssss! I've been waiting for an update to this thread. These old Land Rovers were never on my radar until you posted but ever since, I have been wanting one. Too bad they're not easy to find

It's definitely a grey area. There's a nice ramp with no signage whatsoever underneath the 6th st. bridge that leads right to the water. I've seen quite a few cars down there whenever I'm hanging out taking photos. Last time I was there, there was a group of people just hanging out with a BBQ and drinking beer. Not the cleanest of areas for food.

That bridge is getting torn down this fall and I'm worried that the ramp will disappear.

I've been around 6th and Santa Fe hundreds of times (maybe not hundreds, but definitely in the many 10s ) but have never gone down that ramp. Need to do it sooner rather than later .

PNW is one of the BEST locations to find one. Have you tried craigslist? Here go get this one: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5014842569.html

Spent the last two days driving the truck all over LA. Man, what a difference new bushings, Old Man EMU springs and shocks made. With a 2" lift (which puts me about 4" above where used to be,) it still drives better than it used to.

After looking at it for a few days, I'm gonna keep the polished aluminum brush guard. Even have some sweet ION yellow 90s IPF lights to go on there.

Next items on the checklist are:

      • hit up a PDR guy to remove a couple of minor dimples
      • build my own Overfinch-style double door seals
      • find an un-rusted tailgate latch (mine needs the key to function)
      • re-upholster the front seat bottoms
      • create a small rubber trim strip for the area below the tailgate
      • pick a color to power coat the cyclone wheels
      • re-do the wood veneer, possibly just hydrodip it
      • experiment with SEM color coat to change interior trim and carpet to black
      • replace tired door speakers and almost blown subwoofer
      • find a Blaupunkt RDM127 or RCM127 headunit

Great looking truck, especially with the lift. Please do post up your findings on dying the interior trim/carpet.

The temptation is real, dammit. I just had another trouble-free check up on my Lexus and need more excitement and heartache in my life. It's either gonna be a range rover or a girlfriend...

      We need to do this!

I've always wanted to drive in the LA River ever since watching Terminator in a movie theater many moons ago.

Would look killer with some dark tint, along with the black pillars.
