Yeah, insurance companies never look on the internet for things like this. Smart move.

      Glad your Mustache is intact.

Reminds me of when I was skating around campus and a fat girl freaked out and jumped in front of where I was going to be. I ended up just smashing into her and bear hugging her. Since she was fat, she absorbed all of my energy and we didn't even fall down.

      (a) Her insurance covered everything

      (b) Your insurance covered everything

      (c) There was a split in the coverage, with percents assigned to each insurer

Curious about the outcome, which doesn't appear to be typical... happy for you, regardless...

Oh, I sleep just fine. It's just the unmistakable odor of bullsh¡t hanging over your version of the resolution. I think inquiring minds want to know how you were "taken care of" in spite of insurance guidelines working against you. No insurer is in the habit of handing over checks on demand for the kind of scenario you posited.

Interested to see how this plays out.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I was about to t-bone a idiot driver, so instead I went into a ditch. I ended up not having any real damage after a full inspection, so I cut the other driver loose, but if there was damage I would have been super pissed.

I know that... just wanted to gig him a little, and not give any impressionable readers here any hope of ever settling with an insurer under the circumstances he described. No contact... no coverage from the other driver's insurance. Never. Ever. Ever...

The insurance company actually paid him more than he was out because he was such a good guy. Truth. He was also given a MOH.

If it's like in the commercials, a new Fiat would make the OP daydream about hot Italian women, so he'd definitely hit more crub, fents, brick, and burshes.

Sorry to hear about the accident, though. That sucks big time. Good that you're not hurt too badly.

I recommend that you NOT get a blue 2004 Mach 1, because i've seen how you mod your cars and it would be a waste. Get a 99 Cobra, I don't really want one of those.

One last chance, MustacheGT... care to enlighten us? Tell us exactly how you were made whole by the insurance companies... it would be helpful to all to know just how you manipulated the insurers to see things your way and cut you a huge check...

I think I'm past my 99-04 phase now. I am considering a base 2013 GT with Recaros and Track Pack, however.

Nope. They accepted 100% liability and are going to see the car today to decide about total loss and such.
