Thread: gear change problem on golf mk4 auto

  1. 03-04-2010 04:11 PM #1
hi, has anyone got on clue on what could be the cause of my golfs auto box not changing up to top? it only does this once or twice then drives ok. feels abit like clutch slip, but when i take me foot of gas and re apply it changes up ok.. had it plugged into a diagnostics machine and comes up with 'mechanical fault solenoid torque converter clutch (tcc)' code is 01192. have been told by various people could be anything from lack of fluid (atf) to valve body problem to shot gearbox!!! not sure where to start? car is a 2001 1.6 auto (4 speed box). cheers.

I've fixed 01192 lots of times.

Read through 01m part 2 and 01m part 3 for more info. Also see my website.

Auto trans fluid change or flush will not make a trans fail. Stop spreading the wives tale/urban myth.
