Ganz schön! Any word on manual availability? Can't wait to see these things running around!

It looks like someone at an agency made the mistake of loading the Audi RS 5 consumer catalog to their portfolio a bit too early. All of the images have been posted over at TeamSpeed. We're going to cross-link and then link the original below.

It's supposed to be another high-revving NA V8, like the RS4 or R8.

Yes, but where are the engine pics to prove that.![]()
There where also mules with the Bi-turbo V8 under the bonnet.

why they managed to improve on perfection. The S5 is gorgeous, the RS 5 is GORGEOUS with a huge scoop of GET THE F OUT OF MY WAY!!!!given the redline at 8200ish it is another 4.2 V8 probably 450HP to one-up the M3.

Aah good point! That certainly proves that it's a normally aspirated engine.
I was trying to find a turbo-boost gauge to determine whether it's turbo or NA, but I realized the turbo-charged RS6 doesn't have one either.

It's the high-rev V8 concept and not the twin turbo. A board member told me a while back, which is why we've stuck to that story.
As for transmission, we've heard DSG only and the pics certainly seem to confirm that.

Coyly not in the mix, but the tach tells the story. Audi only makes two engines that rev that high. Both are installed in the R8.

I wonder why NO flat bottom steering wheel, even for Europe.
#14
It look like a old man's car.
No flat bottom steering wheel, no manual gearbox, No..........
Should i go on.

Maybe optional. We'll see in Geneva. If I bought one I'd swap in the RS6 wheel.

I love the RS5. It looks exactly how I hoped and imagined it would. The wheel choices are the only thing I'm a little let down by. The 5 spokes look great, but have already been seen on the TT RS. The other choice just looks poor. It'a also worth noting that this is the most powerful engine yet hooked up to the S-Tronic/DSG transmission. I would have liked to see a 6 speed optional, but the truth is, the DSG/4.2 high rev combination will perform amazingly. 0-60 should be in the very low 4 second range.

Audi is usually very conservative with there 0-60mph time. If the trend keeps up from the past, once Motor Trend gets there hands on one of these animals, they should be able to shave off a half a second putting it in the 4 sec. flat range!!![]()
