FYI, the transmission (5-speed tip) has never changed oil (is it lifetime fluid? if not, what's the interval?) Please advise what I should do. Thank you.

Vw calles it lifetime but that is baloney. I would advise changeing every 40-50,000

You need to diagnose why you have codes.

Solenoid code is usually solenoid, but can be wiring or computer. Ohms checks can pinpoint the problem if its not intermittant. Amp checks are helpful also.

Tip switch code is usually the tip switch. You can watch the switch function on vag-com.

Temp sensor code is usually temp sensor but can be wiring or computer (rarely computer) Temp sensor is deep inside trans requiring trans removal and disassembly to replace. I came up with a "experimental fix" idea. See following thread. You can moniter the temp on vagcom to see if it behaves like it should.

Auto trans fluid change or flush will not make a trans fail. Stop spreading the wives tale/urban myth.
