The Advanced Power TopLED from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has graduated to the new sports car with the four rings, the Audi R8. The headlights now feature LEDs and look absolutely stunning, with the tiny light sources emphasizing the sleek curves. The LEDs provide high-visibility daytime running light without placing an appreciable load on fuel consumption.

I've been asking questions about the R8's headlights. I know that LEDs were going to find there way in there somewhere. But the big questuon that I've asked is are there any differences between Euro and NA spec headlights?

An interesting question ... to the best of my knowledge current UK laws mean full LED headlights are not allowed ... but, I think there is no problem with the LED running lights ... Aston already use LED side / running lights on the DB9 ... I think its the DB9 ... although it might be another Aston model ... but one of them does use LED running lights.

Unless UK laws change ... I don't think we'll find a full LED headlight set up ... similar to that used on the Le Man quattro concept.

Not sure what USA laws will or will not allow in respect of LED headlights and running lights ... maybe someone else here will be able to help.

LED Headlights are allowed in the US. Infinity G45 comes with LED fwd Lights.
