Sounds like and awesome event. Audi racing past and present and Audi's greatest road car to date all in one.

There’s been much speculation on just when the Audi R8 will hit American shores. For customers eagerly placing deposits, that wait will take almost 12 months before the R8 appears in showrooms, though those looking for an earlier peek at the car will take great interest in Audi’s planned grand opening for the newly created Audi Forum New York City.

I'm going up for the day. If others can't make it, don't worry. We'll be posting photos.

I would like to hear the Auto Union racecar. I'm under the impression it sounds insane!

Oooh. That should be awesome. The wait will be 12 months? Wow. This is off topic, I apologize, but what takes so long to get the car over to the US? Is it some kind of regulation, marketing, infrastructure, what? This seems to be the case with the TT as well. I have absolutely no idea why it takes that much time, I know there must be a logical explanation, but what is it?

They're actually building up inventories. German launch isn't even until February.

I snapped this blurry picture with my phone just north of Richmond, VA on I-95 yesterday, the 9th. Looks to be the R10 on its way to New York. Although, I thought that Champion Racing wasnt directly affiliated with the factory team. Am I mistaken?

Tomorrow. October 11.

I believe Champion is not Audi Sport North America.
