From this summer, Audi will for the first time be offering additional versions of the RS 4. Following the successful market launch of the saloon at the end of last year, the Avant and Cabriolet versions will be appearing at European dealers from the summer. This will round off the RS 4 family. This highly emotionally charged, high-performance product from quattro GmbH unites the characteristics of a sports car with supreme everyday qualities. This is as true of the saloon version as it is of the Avant and the four-seater Cabriolet.

At the end of the article:

"Editor's Note: As of this writing, Audi of America has confirmed that it has plans to sell neither the RS 4 Avant nor the RS 4 Cabriolet in the North American market."

Breathtaking- unfortunate that my family won't geto to replace their B6 S4 Avant with a B7 RS4 Avant anytime soon, as the sedan just isn't functional for my mother's needs.

While I don't have sales numbers, I'm sure if you broke it down the S4 sedan probably outsells the cabrio by 5:1. Given the cost of certifying another RS4 model, and the added cost of the Cabrio model, Audi has probably figured out that bringing the RS4 Cab here would simply bee too expensive for the market to bear.

So does it mean like they have no plan to selling them here yet or they have planned not to send them here?

I can't help but think that having the cabrio as base, that Audi needs to resurrect the S2 coupe...

All that means is that an A4 coupe(A5) is much much needed. I bet then we will see an RS5 coupe. No doubt. I would have loved to own an RS4 cab. though, really sweet deal. Heck, I'd move to Germany just to own one.... if that was a feasabile idea for the forseeable future.

damn ... its such a shame those won't be available in the US.

The RS4 Cabriolet is so much nice than the CLK63 AMG.

  24. 03-02-2006 11:37 AM #24
I am begining to think that the RS4 sedan will be my next car. If they bring the cabrio over I will need to seriously reconsider.

    This is pure sex!!

  25. 03-03-2006 10:21 AM #25
man i didn't see the comment about it not coming to the us until now, damn it damn it damn it.

The cabrio version is too expensive... 80.000 Euro, and for that you will get the basis...

  30. 03-30-2006 05:02 PM #30
Hmm about 100 000 Euro in full option, so you can choose Porsche Carrera S.

Ridiculous considering the 2008 R8 should be 100k Euro.
