The Audi R8 continues to write motorsport history: The most successful Le Mans prototype of all time celebrated its 50th victory at the 1000 kilometre race at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend. This milestone is particularly impressive because it was achieved over a mere four year period and in only 60 races.

It is pretty exciting for this to be happening in our lifetime. In 30 years, there are going to legendary stories of the audi R8's dominance. With Ferrari's incredible performace in F1, this maybe a memorable golden age for motorsports.

      A deserved for audi

R8 was amazing to watch as JJ Lehto (sp?) tore up Portland International raceway. Got spun a couple of times and was always able to storm back, and the team, of course, won. Great stuff!!
Also got a chance to walk around the back up car in the pit with the body of...Holy copious amounts of carbon fiber Batman! The BOV's where kind amazing too. Truely a pinnacle of technology in motor sports!

One of the greatest innovations in the R8 is the ability to service the car quickly by making it so modular. In endurance racing, things break, and when changing the entire rear end is less than 10 minutes, its very easy to get back on the road. I find that most impressive of all in the R8s' construction

OK, now that Audi has done it all they should move one step higher...
It's time to join the BIG GUNS: F1

Ford/Cosworth has just left the building (F1) and it leave's a team on sales. Audi should go there and win it all. The other big german names are there; Mercedes-Benz & BMW.

Or, they can go in F1 with their Lamborghini banner; imagine this, a Lamborghini F1 against a Ferrari F1...

Jaguar annouced they are going to leave F1 soon, best time for Audi to enter the field given their great histories of LeMans and rallies.
